The main theme of CIEHC 2014:
“Investment opportunity for organisations to take a leading role in the Rep. Congo’s National Development Plan 2012-2016 ”
CIEHC-2 will be a turnkey event covering the opportunities and challenges associated with doing business in the Republic of Congo’s hydrocarbons sector. It will feature a three days of conference sessions, a trade exhibition, interactive workshops and technical and touristic excursions. CIEHC has already established as the leading oil and gas event in the Central African region. The first edition of the event featured: over 500 delegates, 51 speakers and 27 exhibitors emanating from 23 countries.
On behalf of the Ministry of Hydrocarbons, Republic of Congo, we are delighted to welcome you to the Republic of Congo’s Second International Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition (CIEHC-2). This event will take place at the Palais des Congres, Brazzaville from 14 – 16 April 2014. The event will be organised in association with AME Trade Ltd.
The Republic of Congo has established itself as a major player in the Africa’s hydrocarbons industry and is amongst the top five of continent’s petroleum producers.
Participating at the 2nd International Congo Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition (CIEHC-2) will allow you to find out about numerous opportunities
- Discover the potential of Congo’s pre-salt, post-salt and ultra deep oil zones, exploration is underway with encouraging discoveries but many areas remain unexplored. Congo’s onshore oil blocks in the Cuvette Basin are available but not valorised.
- Find out about gas to electricity projects, Congo’s gas reserves are estimated at 3.20 trillion cubic feet, only small amounts are monetised. Projects for valorising Congo’s gas resources include: the Central Electric of Congo, using the gas from the M’boundi oilfield will construct in Djeno a new power station (300 MW, planned for a future output of 450 MW).Future gas to electricity will be provided from the Litchendjili field.
- Familiarise yourself with the new legal and financial framework in the upstream petroleum sector, which has been adapted to the latest trends of the worldwide petroleum industry and will supersede the current framework which was put in place in 1994.
- Provide technology solutions for the redevelopment of mature oilfields and marginal oil fields. Mature fields such as Madingo, Marine VI and Marine VII permits could produce more with state of the art extraction technology. There is the potential to develop marginal deposits, by using new methods such as hydraulic fracturing in the fields of Mengo-Bindi-Kundji or vapour injection in the Emeraude Field.
- Service companies can explore opportunities from new discoveries and mega projects such as: Moho Nord where new and existing investors will spend $10 billion USD to produce 140,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d) by 2017. Recently there was a hydrocarbon discovery on Nene Marine I part of the Marine XII permit. The Lianzi project, which is being developed by several partners, will see a production peaking at 46,000 bpd, which production slated for 2015. Investment will be upwards of 2 billion USD.
