The listing of the public mobile operator Mobilis, a subsidiary of Algeria Telecom (AT), on the Algiers Stock Exchange is "always on the agenda," CEO of AT Azouaou Mehmel said Friday.

"Mobilis is a public body governed by the Commercial Code. The government has decided to list Mobilis on Algiers Stock Exchange, ant not AT. For us, the listing on the stock exchange of Mobilis is always on the agenda," Mehmel stressed in an interview with APS.

On the current interest shown by foreign telephone operators in the Algerian market, Mehmel said "the national market interests many foreign telephony operators, even those who were reluctant the past."

"Today, foreign operators have witnessed the dynamism of the Algerian market and want to enter by any means since they say and retell it," he added, noting that "there had possibilities when the Algerian state sold licenses and those who wanted to enter postulated."

Among the operators who have expressed their desire to enter the Algerian phone market including in particular French Orange and British Vodafone, said in last November, Minister of Post and Information and Communication Technologies Zohra Derdouri.
