Ghana's central bank lowered its monetary policy rate by another 100 basis points to 20.0 percent, saying economic activity remains strong, inflation expectations subdued and the exchange rate of the cedi stable but "slower private sector credit expansion and tightening credit stance on enterprises could dampen the growth momentum."
The National Communications Authority has given approval for the merger between Bharti Ghana Limited (Airtel) and Millicom Ghana Limited (Tigo) to proceed subject to some conditions.
The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of Ghana's central bank has maintained its benchmark policy rate at 21 percent, Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Ernest Addison announced here on Monday.
