Investor education and protection, sustainable financing and product diversification in the equity market are among the key issues that emerged during the events to mark the World Investor Week organized by the Uganda Securities Exchange together with other partners from Oct.3 – 9.

Uganda Securities Exchange (“the Exchange”/ “USE”) Uganda’s principal stock Exchange, on Monday announced the admission of Chipper Technologies Uganda Limited (“Chipper”) as a new Trading Participant / stockbroker on its market and as a USE Securities Central Depository Agent (SCDA).

Uganda Clays Limited reported a sharp increase in annual profit for 2021 and has promised to return Shs 1.35 billion to shareholders as dividends subject the annual general meeting approval.

British American Tobacco Uganda (USE:BATU), the cigarette distributor, reported a drop in after-tax profit last year amid “an exceptionally challenging operating environment” as weak consumer spending and “illicit trade” hit its sales.
