Nigeria

    The Nigerian bourse closed flat on Friday amid a relatively quiet trading session. On the week, the index was up considerably by 6.57% following a six-consecutive day gain; down 9.85% Year-to-date.

    A total of 15 stocks gained points; 53 stocks closed flat while 19 stocks lost points . AFRIPUD (+9.73%) topped the gainers chart today (after declaring 43kobo dividend following the release of its FY2015 financials yesterday) while Ikeja hotel (-4.88%) lost the most on the day.

    The most volumes on the day were seen in banking space, FCMB (57.82mn) and GTB (42.94mn).

    Positive sentiments filtered through the market this week as the NGSE All Share index gained 6.57% (w/w).

     

     

    Zimbabwe

    The ZSE Industrial index shed 0.02 points (0.02%) to close at 98.80 points as three counters lost ground. CBZ (CBZ.zw) retreated $0.0100 to close at $0.1000; EDGARS (EDGR.zw) dropped $0.0010 to $0.0540 while INNSCOR (INN.zw) closed at $1800 after a $0.0008 loss.

    Trading in the positive; ECONET (ECO.zw) rose by $0.0041 to settle at $0.2301, OLD MUTUAL (OML.zw) shifted up $0.0030 to trade at $1.8030 whilst DELTA (DLTA.zw) added $0.0025 to close at $0.5525.

    The Industrial index put off 0.60 points (0.60%) compared to week ending 26 February 2016.

    The Mining index was flat at 19.14 points. BINDURA (BIND.zw), FALGOLD (FALG.zw), HWANGE (HCCL.zw) and RIOZIM (RIOZ.zw) maintained previous price levels at $0.0095, $0.0050, $0.0300 and $0.1040 respectively.

    Week on week Mining index was unchanged.

     

    Kenya

    The NSE-20, NSE-25 and NSE All Share Index garnered 48.99pts, 68.32pts and 1.75pts to close at 3,981.47, 4,241.03 and 146.96 respectively. In comparison to last week standings, the three indices also expanded with the NSE-20, NSE-25 and NASI rising 2.8%, 4.1% and 4.1% from the previous 3,871.62, 4,073.51 and 141.22 respectively. Market capitalization closed at KES 2,069.72bn (USD 20.42bn) being 1.21% higher. The number of shares traded came off significantly by 52.48% to 16.94m. The total turnover also plummeted by 60.90% to KES 283.47 (USD 2.80m).

    Sameer Africa gained 8.5% to close at KES 3.85 as the day’s highest gainer whereas TPS Eastern Africa was the top decliner shedding 9.2% to close at KES 24.75. KenGen was the day’s top mover having traded 5.53m shares to account for 33% of total shares traded.

     

    Ghana

    The GSE Composite Index also gained 0.93 points to close at 1,970.85 representing a year-to-date loss of 0.11 %.

    At the end of today's trading session, a total of 15,605 shares valued at GH¢19,102.33 were traded.

    Nine equities traded with two gainers and one loser.

    CAL and GOIL gained one pesewa to close at GH¢1.01 and GH¢1.45 per share respectively.

    On the other hand, EGH lost one pesewa to close at GH¢7.04 per share.

     

    Tanzania

    Today, DSE recorded a total turnover of TZS 230.45 mln from 524,446 shares traded in 87 deals compared to the previous session which recorded a turnover of TZS 115.32 mln from 33,186 shares traded in 46 deals.

    CRDB counter had 513,272 shares traded at weighted average price of TZS 395 per share in 65 deals. DCB counter had 220 shares traded at weighted average price of TZS 550 per share in 2 deals. MKCB counter had 500 shares traded at weighted average price of TZS 1,000 per share in 1 deal. NMB counter had 8,947 shares traded at weighted average price of TZS 1,920 per share in 6 deals. SWISSPORT counter had 1,040 shares traded at weighted average price of TZS 6,950 per share in 6 deals. TCC counter had 100 shares traded at weighted average price of TZS 12,350 per share in 1 deal. TOL counter had 240 shares traded at weighted average price of TZS 800 per share in 3 deals. TCCL counter had 127 shares traded at weighted average price of TZS 1,980 per share in 3 deals.
