Similarly, the value of domestic companies experienced a slight uptick of 0.46%, settling at TZS 11,405.21 billion. This indicates a collective rise in the worth of companies based within the country. The All-share Index (DSEI) and Tanzania Share Index (TSI) both saw increases, reaching 1,741.08 points and 4,310.83 points, respectively, showcasing the overall good performance of listed companies. This positive trend is credited to the combined efforts of companies listed locally and cross-listed, contributing to the economic upswing in the market.
There was a noteworthy surge in trading activities over the week, highlighted by an increase of 6.18%. The total value of transactions reached TZS 1.69 billion, signaling a heightened level of market activity. NMB took the lead in trading, accounting for 38.17% of the total trading volume, followed by CRDB at 21.32%, TCCL at 16.92%, and NICO and TOL at 7.36% and 7.04% respectively. This data underscores the positive momentum in the market, indicating increased investor interest and confidence in various shares.
The Banking, Finance & Investment sector index increased by 1.61% and finished at 4,590.91 points. Whereas, the Industrial & Allied (IA) Index and Commercial Services sector indices decreased by 0.10% and 0.04% closing at 5,159.22 points and 2,147.74 points respectively.
Locally, TCCL experienced a 3.96% price hike, MBP went up by 3.57%, NMB saw a 2.67% rise, and NICO increased by 2.20%. Conversely, TICL faced a significant decline of 12.20%, DSE dropped by 2.15%, SWIS fell by 1.49%, and TPCC witnessed a 1.09% decrease in their respective prices.
