The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday’s trading session on a mixed note.

     

    The benchmark EGX30 index went up 0.73%, finishing the session at 11,534.63 points.

     

    The small- and mid-cap EGX70 equal-weight index (EWI) slipped 0.28% to 2,114.97 points.

    Meanwhile, the EGX100 index added 0.35% to 3,121.03 points, while the EGX50 EWI index edged up 0.22% to 2,007.49 points.

     

    Trading volume amounted nearly to 733.475 million shares exchanged through 40,076 transactions at a turnover of EGP 4.301 billion.

     

    Market capitalization closed today’s trading session at EGP 730.176 billion.

     

    Retail investors controlled 24.41% of total trading transactions, while institutional investors made up 75.58% of trading.

     

    Egyptian traders made up 55.37% of total trading transactions, while Arab and foreign investors made up 16.75% and 27.88% respectively.
